We travelled from Cirencester to find this place, on recommendation of Tripadvisor comments, on a recent visit to the Cotswolds. It was a Wednesday night so never booked as we presumed it wouldn't be too busy. After entering the postcode GL6 6ND , the SatNav took us across country through single track roads and country lanes until we finally found it well over an hour later at 8.20pmOne look at the car park and my heart sank, every space was taken with beween 40 - 50 cars.

While my wife went in to see if a table was available, a car pulled out of a space and we got parked.  Good news, they had a table available. The restaurant was absolutely packed which was a great boost in midweek. The menu wasn't huge but quite varied, with 2 rump steak meals on special at £8 or two for £15. As it was our last evening in the area, we pushed the boat out and had fillet steaks at £23.50 which were some of the best wev'e tasted. With deserts and drinks it came to around £115 for 3.

I'm a wheelchair user and access was perfect with a slight incline from the car park to the entrance. They had a disabled toilet, a lovely outside patio area to the rear with the most fantastic views over the Painswick Valley. Would recommend and will definitely return when next in the area 5*+

We dined at this restaurant following the recommendation of a few locals.

The food was of a very high quality. I had the beef medallions and they melted in the mouth, absolutely lovely. The waiting staff were delightfully polite and extremely helpful.

The decor is pleasant and contemporary but the openness of the venue together with bright lightening means that atmosphere is rather lacking.

Can't fault the food though, and I am told in daylight the views are lovely.

We visited this excellent Hostelry last weekend and were not disappointed.

The quality of our meal was very high, and was accompanied by a great choice of real ales, from which I chose Bass my particular favourite.

I started with belly pork teryaki which was excellent, followed by Lemon Sole, which whilst not being Jaws like in size was well cooked and prepared.

Spoiled myself with an amaretto ice cream desert! All good.

We've been here several times - I have always had excellent service and food and have recommended to loads of friends - particularly like the liver & bacon!

I have called in here the last couple of times I have been to the area and find it very welcoming. Have ordered the same food both times - the ham & cheese ploughmans and it is excellent. The wow factor for me is the simply stunning view and, amazingly, when I was last there it was actually nice enough to sit outside and just gaze at the scenery whilst supping my half of cider and eating my tasty ploughmans. A perfect place to stop and relax for a while.
